TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): At least four policemen have been killed and four others have gone missing after Talibaninfo-icon attacks in central Uruzgan province, an official said on Thursday.

Police chief Col. Shafiqullah Sahar told Pajhwok Afghan News that the militants stormed two security check-posts on Wednesday night.

He said four policemen were killed and four others were missing. Thirteen Taliban insurgents, including their commander, also suffered casualties, Sahar added.

Another security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the insurgents attacked two security check posts in Tirinkot, the provincial capital.

He said the ensuing firefight lasted several hours. The Taliban, however, have not yet commented in this regard so far.
