Gerizwan district chief survives Taliban attack

MAIMANA (Pajhwok): The district administration chief of Girezwan district in north western Faryab province survived the Taliban attack while five security personnel were killed an injured in a separate attack, an official said on Friday.

Police Spokesperson Abdul Karim Youresh told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban stormed security forces check-posts in Gerizwan district and the clash continued for four hours.

Four local army and uprising security members were killed and one injured during the clash. The Taliban also suffered casualties during the clash but the exact number of casualties was not known.

Separately, Mullah Faizullah Rahmani, the administrative chief of Gerizwan district survived the Taliban attack.

Rahmani claimed security forces have arrest the Taliban who attacked him.
