FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): Family members of those killed in a shooting incident in western Ghorinfo-icon province in May have accused the government of failing to identify the shooters, but the Attorney General Office (AGO) said details of the incident would be soon shared with people.

The aid distribution by a Qatar based welfare organization in Ghor province in May this year turned violent, when some people protested over what they called unfair distribution of the aid.

Six people were killed and 20 others were injured in the shooting incident.

Following the incident, the Presidential Palace tasked a delegation to investigate the incident and expose those involved, but the delegation failed to announce its findings even after the passage of more than two months.

The victims’ family members accused the government for the loss of their loved ones and stressed the government should expose those involved.

Noor Ahmad, who lost his son in the incident, blamed the local administration for the incident and said they had been demanding the outcome of the investigation into the incident but their voices remained unheard.

“My son Ahmad Khan was in his office and when he heard gun shots he came out to see what happened. When he came out to the road he was shot dead and he was the first to die,” he said.

Edmah, who lost her husband in the incident said her husband was a daily wager and on that particular day he went to the bazaar, not knowing that he would be able to return.

Farid Ahmad Ghor, assistant head of the AGO, said they had sent the outcome of their investigation to the Presidential Palace and were awaiting final report from the president.

“We have taken our decision which is legal and prepared the report which has been sent to the government leadership,” he said.
