KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Some family members of victims of the ongoing war have welcomed the ongoing peace process and demanded their role in peace efforts.

Around 300 relatives of war victims gathered in Ghazi Stadium in Kabul and asked the government to provide them with explanation about the ongoing peace bid.

They also asked the conflicting parties to take sincere steps towards reaching durable peace in the country.

Nidaulhaq Shamalzai, one of the protestors, said that many people had rendered sacrifices for peace in the country and the government should allow war- victims to be represented in peace talks.

Nasratullah, a nine year old boy, who held a picture of his father killed in the conflict, said his father was in the National Directorate of Security and was killed some years back.

“We want peace, we want ceasefire,” he said.
