Ghani stresses improvement in Kabul security

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has asked security officials to take effective steps for the improvement of security situation in capital Kabul, according to a statement on Friday.

The president said this during a meeting with security officials from Kabul City.

Security officials briefed the president regarding their security plans, developments, lapses and rocket attack on Independence Day.

The president said dimensions of the rocket attack on Independence Day should be evaluated to know how militants were able to lunch the attack.

Referring to changes in Kabul City police stations, the president said: “I visited police stations, the situation is not acceptable to me and there is immediate need for administrative changes. Police chiefs should be more cautions to their duties,” he added.

Ghani directed Kabul Police Chief to strictly and legally deal with individuals who stand against the law and create hurdles in the implementation of law.

Ghani issue stressed over improved security in Kabul at a time when robbery and target killing has increased in the recent past.
