KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Some Meshrano Jirgainfo-icon members on Tuesday expressed their concerns over growing insecurity and violence in the country and asked security forces to adopt aggressive posture because peace could not be achieved being lenient.

Muhaiuddin Munsif, a lawmaker from Kapesa province, said: “The Talibaninfo-icon have surged violence, we requested them to reduce violence but they rejected and now we want security forces to switch to aggressive posture from defensive.”

He said peace could not be achieved being merciful and experiences showed that peace could not be achieved by making the opposition happy. He stressed on the need to mount pressure on Taliban so they accept peace.

Gulalai Akbari, a lawmaker from Badakhshan province, said: “After the formal inauguration of peace talks, the violence increased. Why Afghan government supporters are playing the role of observers instead they should put pressure on the Taliban.”
