PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Kabulinfo-icon and Islamabad will soon enter negotiations on a preferential trade agreement (PTA), says Pakistaninfo-icon’s foreign minister.

The two sides would also negotiate a revision of the Afghanistaninfo-icon-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement, Shah Mahmood Qureshi told journalists on Monday.

Prime Minister's Adviser on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood will soon visit Kabul for discussions with the Afghan leadership on regional connectivity projects.

In a positive response to Kabul’s request, Islamabad recently opened five border crossing-points for facilitating transit trade, bilateral trade and pedestrian movement.

Negotiations on a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) and revision of the Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement (APTTAinfo-icon) would commence soon, Qureshi said.

The joint news conference came after a meeting between High Council for National Reconciliation Chairman Dr. Abdullah and Qureshi.
