KHOSTCITY (PAN): Gunmen have abducted four workers of two non- governmental organisations in the southeastern province of Khost, officials said on Thursday.
The workers with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) were conducting a survey for a National Solidarity Programme (NSP) project in Nadar Shah Kot district when were kidnapped, the district chief, Husain Jan Sherzai, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Another seven workers were able to escape their kidnapping, he said, adding two more were missing.
An IRC worker, speaking on condition of anonymity, said two vehicles and as many motorcycles belonging to the workers were damaged in the incident. He confirmed four workers of two NGOs, including an IRC employee, had been kidnapped. The abducted included three workers of another NGO, he said.
There was no claim of claim of responsibility for the abduction.
