JALALABAD (PAN): Nine cricket players were among a dozen people injured when two cars collide on the busy Jalalabad-Torkham highway in the eastern province of Nangarhar, officials said on Monday.
The accident took place in the 3rd Farm area of Batikot town, the district chief, Naimatullah, told Pajhwok Afghan News. Several people were injured in the incident, he said.
Latoon Cricket Club players, who were traveling to Mohmand Dara district, were among the injured, resident Najibullah Hashimzada said.
Nine cricketers and three children were wounded in the collision as their vehicle ploughed into a car coming from the opposite direction
They took the injured people to Mohmand Dara, Peshawar and Jalalabad hospitals, cricketer Amanullah said.
Two injured people, brought to the Jalalabad Civil Hospital, were in stable condition, Director of Public Health Dr. Baaz Mohammad Sherzad said.
