ISLAMABAD (PAN‘s northwestern Hangu city has increased to 36 people, a doctor said on Friday.
A day earlier, local police said that two dozen people were killed and 30 others wounded in the car bombing in the town, the gateway to the Waziristan tribal region.
The explosion rocked a hotel, close to police and district administrator’s offices in the main bazaar at 6pm. The blast created an eight-foot-deep crater.
Fifteen houses and shops in the vicinity were flattened as a result of the suicide assault, the ninth since Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden’s killing during a US forces’ operation in Abbottabad on May 2.
Shahid Kamran, a doctor at Hangu District Hospital, said they had received 36 dead bodies. Some of the 50 wounded were in unstable condition, he added.
