The vehicle was going from Chaman, a town near the border with Afghanistan, to Quetta, the capital of southwestern Balochistan province. The driver lost control and the bus into the ravine from the Kogak mountain.
Resident Nimatullah told Pajhwok Afghan News 14 people were killed and six others wounded in the accident. Most of the victims, including women and children, were Afghans, he said.
But a local police officer, Abdul Jabbar, confirmed the fatalities. A dozen people were injured, he said, explaining all the victims were Afghans. Police took the injured to a hospital in Chaman, said Jabbar, who blamed the accident on careless driving.
