KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Afghan and international security forces seized 1000 kilograms of narcotics in Kandahar province and detained two rebel commanders in Paktia, the alliance said on Thursday.
The drugs were seized by a combined patrol of Afghan and NATO.
The drugs were destroyed on the spot, a statement from the alliance said.
Elsewhere, two Taliban commanders were detained during operations in Gorak district and Gardez, the capital of Paktia, the statement added. The detainees were allegedly involved in planting roadside bombs and attacks on road construction firms.
