ISLAMABAD (PAN Twenty-20 Cricket Federation (PTCF) team defeated a visiting Afghan club by 55 runs in the opener of the Peace Tournament that began at the Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium in the northwestern city of Peshawar on Sunday.
The event is being held between of the two countries twenty-20 cricket federations. PTCF captain Yasir Hameed won the toss and chose to bat in the 20 overs game, with his side piling up 177 runs for the loss of four wickets.
Yasir Hameed scored 74 runs, followed by Rehman with 46 runs to set the tone for their victory.
For Afghanistan Twenty20 Cricket Federation (ATCF), Dil Agha, Mujtaba, Abddullah and Asadullah took one wicket each. Afghan skipper, Hasti Gul, made 39 runs but his side collapsed to 122.
The second match of the tournament will be played tomorrow at the same venue and the third match on Feb. 21.
