SHARAN (PAN): A newly-constructed small water dam and a canal were inaugurated in Sharan city, the capital of southeastern Paktia province, on Wednesday, an official said.
A Central Asia Development Group (CADG) representative Akhtar Mohammad Tanai, said the projects included the construction of a 400-metrs canal and a small dam.
He said the United States-funded projects cost $48,000 and took four and a half months to complete. Farmers in dozens of villages would benefit from the schemes, he said.
