WASHINGTON (PAN): US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is still planning to leave the Obama administration in January, a senior State Department official said on Wednesday.
“She seems pretty set in her plans; I think you probably misread a little bit the way the comment came out earlier,” the State Department spokesperson, Victoria Nuland, told reporters.
Nuland was responding to recent media reports that Clinton might stay longer in the administration of President Obama, who begins his second term on January 20.
US media have started speculating that Clinton might run for the presidency in 2016, despite repeated denials by the secretary of state.
