Zabul Taliban militants adopt peace

QALAT (PAN militants, including a militant commander, had joined the peace process in southern Zabul province on Thursday.

Zabul reconciliation council chief Muhammad Daud Gulzar told Pajhwok Afghan News that three militant abandoned militancy and embraced peace.

The militant commander was active in anti-government activities, he said.

Gulzar said the government would provide employment opportunities to the trio and also support their families.

Deputy Governor of Zabul said militants who surrendered and joined the peace process would receive governmental support.
