ASADABAD (PAN were killed in Marawara district of eastern Kunar province, an official said on Saturday.
Seven missiles were fired from Pakistan on Friday night, with two of them hitting a house in Chinar village that lies near the Pakistani border, Nangarhar governor’s spokesman Wasifullah Wasifi told Pajhwok Afghan News. Two women were killed and as many others were wounded inside the house, he said.
The attack comes amid an ongoing security operation by Afghan forces to target militants in the border region.
So far more than 60 Afghan civilians have been killed and hundreds of livestock perished in missile, artillery and rocket attacks blamed on Pakistan forces in eastern Afghanistan. Hundreds of families have been displaced as a result of the shelling.
