JALALABAD (PAN): An overnight bomb explosion caused no casualties, but damaged at least 25 shops in the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Tuesday.
The home-made device that went off around 9pm had been planted in front of music cassette-selling shops near a wheat market in Jalalabad, the governor’s spokesman Ahmad Zia Abdulzai said. Several shops were damaged.
Cassettes sellers’ union head Ghani Khan Lewanai told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast comprehensively destroyed three music shops, including his, and partially damaged 22 others.
He claimed suffering financial losses amounting to 800,000 afghanis as a result of the blast. Lewanai said it was the fifth bomb attack targeting music shops in Jalalabad, asking the government to prevent such incidents.
