TARINKOT (PAN) said on Sunday at least 26,000 individuals have got voter registration cards in central Uruzgan province.

Abdul Hamid Sharifi, provincial IEC head, told Pajhwok Afghan News 23,800 male and 2,200 female had received their voter registration cards.

“The distribution of cards in such a large quantity shows that people of Uruzgan have greater enthusiasm to participate in the upcoming elections,” Sharifi added.

Voter registration cards’ offices had been closed in districts but an office in the provincial capital, Tarinkot, would remain opened to serve the masses by the end of current year, he informed.

Ahmadullah, a resident of Tarinkot, said he got the voter registration cards two months back, adding he would cast his vote in the presidential and provincial council elections in favour of competent candidates.
