MAIDAN SHAR (PAN): A commander was among four militants killed and two others injured in an airstrike in the central province of Maidan Wardak, officials said on Tuesday.
The airstrike took place at 3:00 pm Monday in the Shah Qalandar area of Chack district, the governor’s spokesman, Shahidullah Shahid, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The commander was preparing attack on Afghan and International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) forces when he and the other militants were targeted by ISAF helicopter, he said.
He denounced the militant group for planting bombs, robbery, and killing innocent people in the district.
Wakil, a resident of the area, said that after the strike he saw three dead bodies on the side of the road.
