KHOST CITY (PANinfo-icon): A NATOinfo-icon helicopter crashed inside the Sarabagh military base in Khost City, the capital of southeastern Khost province, on Thursday.

As a result of the crash that took place at around 12pm, the aircraft caught fire, residents told Pajhwok Afghan News.

A statement from the International Security Assistance Force (ISAFinfo-icon) media office in Kabulinfo-icon said one of its helicopters made a forced landing in eastern Afghanistaninfo-icon.

The statement added: “There were no fatalities and all those aboard the aircraft were recovered and taken to an ISAF facility.” But the statement did not reveal further details.

Security threats have increased in Khost recently. Two weeks ago, a group attack was carried out on a foreign troop base, inflicting casualties on about 20 civilians. Over 100 foreign troops were injured.

On Wednesday, 25 people, including three American soldiers, were killed after a suicide bomber blew up himself near international soldiers.
