400 appear in police recruitment test

May 05, 2013 - 17:06

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PANinfo-icon): Hundreds of high school graduates on Sunday thronged a sportsinfo-icon ground in northern Balkh province to appear in a police recruitment exam, an official said.

Nearly 400 students from Balkh, Samangan, Sari-Pul, Jawzjan and Faryab provinces lined up at the Sena ground in Mazar-i-Sharif to take the test, said Col. Abdul Ghani Nasiri, an official at the Kabulinfo-icon Police Academy.

He said the recruits would undergo a four-month training course in Turkey and a four-year course at the Kabul Police Academy.

Abdul Rahman, an aspirant, said he was enthusiastic to join the police force and serve the nation at this critical juncture.

According to Col. Nasiri, 15 individuals from Balkh would make it to the Kabul Academy and eight others from the same province to Turkey.

Eight each from the remaining four provinces would be selected to join the training course at Kabul Police Academy and four each to be sent to Turkey, he said. Nasiri was disappointed by the absence of female candidates.
