GHAZNI CITY (PAN commander was killed along with his two bodyguards during a security operation in the Deh Yak district of southern Ghazni province, an official said on Saturday.

Mullah Rahmatullah Mubarez and his two accomplices were killed late on Friday in Pailoch area during the operation by Afghan National Army (ANA) troops, acting governor Ali Ahmad Khashe told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said Mubarez was behind a series of militant activities, creating insecurity across the province.

The 203rd Thunder Military Corps spokesman Nazifullah Sultani also confirmed the commander’s killing. The Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
