Blast in Nangarhar University injures teacher

JALALABAD (PAN): A lecturer was wounded as a result of a bomb explosion at the Nangarhar University on Sunday, an official said.

The explosion took place in the afternoon after a gathering on election issues, , the Journalism Faculty head said.

Babrak Miakhel told Pajhwok Afghan News that Samiullah Saeedi, a journalism faculty lecturer, was wounded in the incident.

He said the explosives had been placed in the vehicle belonging to the head of literature faculty, but he escaped unhurt.

Lt. Col. Hazrat Mashraqiwal, the deputy police chief, confirmed the blast, but declined giving further details.
