GHAZNI CITY (PAN) has been shot dead by unidentified gunmen in southern Ghazni province, an official said on Sunday.
The incident took place on Saturday evening in Khwaja Ali area on the outskirts of Ghazni City, the provincial police chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Col. Asadullah Ensafi said the Imam was called out of his home being shot to death. With no clue to the killers so far, police are investigating the incident.
Syedullah, a resident of the area, said the gunmen were on a motorcycle. After killing the prayer leader, the attackers fled the area, he added.
No one has so far claimed responsibility for the murder.
